   That reminds me of the guy (US-American nonetheless) who got out of his jeep to pose for a picture next to a lion in South Africa’s Kruger National Park. I understand he was a little chewed up aferwards.

   Your example is just one more feather in Darwin’s cap. People need to understand that it’s no coincidence that lions and tigers are rarely seen loading-up their plates at salad bars.

   Intelligent Design might be correct, but I see the problem being one of Unintelligent Implementation.

   I like your comment on ID that I may have to borrow it from time to time…hope you have not copyrighted it…I’d hate to feel guilty about not paying you all those fees.

   As to the armless/brainless ones… I vote that the zoos and curcus’ of the world install an opening in the cage large enough to put one’s head in…. so society and the human gene pool can free itself of these apparently defective units.

   El Irregular: Yeah…I had the same thought. There must be a strong (or reckless) sense of machismo in Eastern Europe. Then again, they probably watch the Running of the Bulls and think that we’re nuts. Personally, I’d rather face a hundred bulls than one tiger.

    There’s a story in the press at the moment of this outfit in Badajoz that buys fierce wild critters from the zoos, let’s them free on this big farm, then organises hunting safaris for big bucks, no pun intended. Seven bozos were arrested on Tuesday while posing for the souvenir photograph with their feet on the remains of a young tiger they had just managed to blow to bits.

Now that you’ve seen and “appreciated” the packaging, you realize that it’s probably a good thing that Pau wasn’t carrying a suitcase full through customs. You never know which customs agent might open the bag. 😉

    Hey Euro-Trac: Thanks for stopping in. What can I say, except that it just popped into my head. Inspiration works in mysterious ways…although it usually works better after a glass of wine.

    Lenox: I heard about that on the radio. I suppose it’s not as cruel as shoving a goat off a belltower, but I somehow can’t see Hemingway paying 100€ to shoot a baby tiger in someone’s backyard.

    Sadly, I can’t get the first link to come up. Don’t know if it’s because it’s truly “Lost in Space” or my new Mac playing tricks with my own rather limited mental capacity. ANYhow, I’m really enjoying perusing your blog. Been hoping to come across something Spanish for a long time.

    As for the “downed arms”, well, here in sunny california they shoot the animals for being so ill mannered. ::shrugs:: I’m not always impressed with the human intellect, or in some cases, lack thereof. ::grins wryly::
