Her owners are back from vacation, and she left my house happy, well-fattened and very well-exercised.
And as an added bonus, her owners picked up all of this morning’s poo from the yard on their way out. That was a nice touch…especially since I didn’t have to touch it.
So, what did I learn from the experience? I learned that dogs are more fun to play with than cats; but they also require a LOT more work. As with so many things in life, it’s all about yin-yang. Push on this side of the balloon, and the other side will bulge. Have an animal that shows you real love and affection; and it will also show you the mangled reminants of your new leather sandals.
In the final analysis, I think I’ve walked away with a new respect for dogs. No…I probably won’t go out and buy one. But then again…my experience with Jazz will likely dissuade me from eating one should I ever visit Asia.
Now that’s what I call “personal growth.”
*1st giggle of the morning* Well, I’m glad to see your experience with Jasmine ended on a happy note. I think we all will miss your little exerps about your doggie escapades. Maybe this will be the start of a new business adventure? Sal’s puppy sitting?
Learning by doing is the best way to learn, I always say. I love dogs, but I still prefer fans. Does that mean we’re both lazy in this respect??
The thing about dogs AND cats… they will all leave you unpleasant surprises on the carpet from time to time. (As my cat did this morning. Ick.)
I’m sorry we won’t get to see more idyllic photos of you and Jazz bonding! Although the Snoopy picture is a nice touch.
Lisa: With all the horses and albino St. Bernards you have on your property, I can’t imagine how exhausted you must feel at the end of each day. One little puppy nearly killed me. And on top of all that, you ALSO keep foreign students? Man!
C-Swiss: You prefer “fans?” Presumably, the non-stalking variety. How can I join your fan club? I have character references. Slim Whitman, for example.
Sal
Ang:
Jazzy was indeed a good muse. But for future reference, I’d like my next muse to be a little prettier and a lot less high maintenance.
ha ha ha! funny. . .
LOL! Uhm… I think I couldn’t decide whether to write “I’m a cat fan” or “I prefer cats”, deleted part of the text, then forgot the “cat”. Must have been the heat! Or was that the reason for thinking only of a fan? Hmmm.
Get a Canon EOS 350D, I’ve almost overcome all serious yearnings for a dog and believe me, they were serious.
1.15am, 24oC, mosquitoes … can’t sleep … blah.
Sal… I gotta tell you something:
You’re amazingly gorgeous.
Lucky wife.
🙂
Lady Di:
An EOS digicam would be wasted in my hands. A camera like that belongs in the hands of an artist.
Nyana:
Welcome back. We’ve missed you around here.
Hey…I am committed to making your Thai salad next week. I promise.
As for your compliment, thank you! But…I think you’re confused. I’m the guy in the background of the photo below. The gorgeous one with the floppy ears and wet nose is Jasemine.
BTW…there’s no wife. I’ve been single for over a year now. And, unfortunately, Jasemine rejected my offer of marriage.
Sal
Hey you … thank you.
Be happy Jasemine said no to your proposal, it wouldn’t have worked … there would have been problems when you took her home to your family … you in the people seats, her in the dog cage down below.
What you need is a cat that thinks it’s a dog. It’s the best of both worlds. I have one of those. She’s a calico with orange. Apparently they’re a different breed. She follows me around just like a dog. I have to make her stay home when I go for a walk.
Yoda!
hiya sal,
maybe you’d like to take care of my 5-month old golden retriever pup when I’m away on holidays.. he loves leaather sandals.
Kel
Lady Di: So…you’re proposing that I should keep all future girlfriends in a cage under the table? Interesting. Very, very interesting…
Kick: As a matter of fact, I do have a dog-like cat. His name is “Fino”…and he’s a love machine. Methinks I may be writing a post about him in the near future.
Kelhara: You’re offering me another muse? I’d be happy to babysit your retriever if, and only if, he’s litter box trained. At five months old, you still have time.
