It’s kinda nice to have an ex-father-in-law who is a talented painter. He sprung this latest work on an unsuspecting me last month.
How could I resist buying it?
I couldn’t.
SAL DeTRAGLIA's VIRTUAL TAPAS BAR
Above average home cook, published humorist, endurance athlete, former ex-pat, recovering attorney, doting husband, dedicated dad, non-Italian speaking Italian-American, and endearingly lousy ukulele player. It’s all true. It’s all Sal. This website (www.saldetraglia.com) is my outlet to inform and entertain, on both the personal and professional fronts.
He painted you and MADE YOU BUY IT???
Yep, that’s the high price of capitalism.
Don’t worry, because I’ll get even. I’ll soon send him an invoice demanding payment of royalties for using my image without permission.
I love it … but hey, let me photograph you and Inez and see how we do, oh and for free 🙂 Hmmm or should I set my price in smoke meat?
Good to find you posting, I was about to offer to ghost write for you … your voice is missed in the blogosphere.

Where hungry friends are concerned, I consider everything that comes off The Salivator to be a charitable donation.
Sorry for my absence lately. It’s been a combination of a long trip to Chicago, plus a trip to London last week (details to come soon), plus just plain old writer’s burnout. But I’m starting to get my mojo back, so I should be back behind the keyboard shortly.
Plus, I’ve found a new, blog-worthy hobby. “What’s that hobby?” you ask. Details to come soon.

Where is the doggy in the picture? A little surprised that he made you $$$ for it, but then again, he IS an in-law. So, did you hang it on the ceiling above your bed?
Wow… I think it’s a fabulous painting. But then, being of Spanish decendency, and decendent from artists no less, I may have a bit of bias. By the by, I’ve offered to purchase my Mother’s paintings. Good art deserves it’s price. Inez will treasure that portrait as a grown woman.
I like it. Great colours. He’s a very talented artist. It doesn’t really look like you, but it does somehow capture the essence of you, which is what it’s all about, right?
Good thing you finally posted again because we all know that blog abandonment is the 8th deadly sin. 😉
I like the painting. You look almost, well, iconic. Saint-Sal?? Hmmm. 😉
Good to have you back.
Wow. These colours make you look like a saint in church icons, starved and suffering. Throw in a halo and its Saint Sal 🙂
Iconic! Yeah, that’s it. Fill in the blank: St. Salvatore, Patron Saint of ___________.
Is this Big Momma’s birthday gift?
Mary & Nelson
I think this is very cool! And even – just from what I know – I think it captures your spirit or essence at Christina said. And since he has actually met you in the flesh I bet his interpretation is pretty good. I think you are lucky to have this.

“St. Salvatore, Patron Saint of Fermented Beverages” has a certain appeal.
Although “Patron Saint of Slothful Blogging” might be more fitting for 2007.
Anyway, I won’t rest until somebody has that image tattooed across his chest.
Sal
::laughing:: painting good, tattoo… ummm… You first! ;o)
Wow! I’ve been following you for a while, and I have to agree with a few of the posts, while it may not be a mirror image, it catches the spirit and aura!
What’s that hobby?’ … indeed I did ask.
Lol yes, this is a prompt. I have guests flying in Saturday, I presume my blogging will slow some.
I think you should use that for your avitar. Cool picture.
Have a great weekend!
